Finger knitting a blanket!

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  Finger Knitting a Blanket Finger knitting is something I used to do a lot as a young girl. It has always been extremely nostalgic for me, It requires a lot of time and dedication to doing this project. Lots of youtube and making sure the placement is consistent and easily distributed. Learning outcome 4 is one of my faviioret's because it talks about having dedication and showing commitment to projects.

Indoor Garden!

Izabella Curtis IB Student  New Hobby: Indoor Gardening! while being in school and not really getting the opportunity to go out and be a part of the community due to COVID-19. I wanted to bring more natural life into my environment. Indoor plants and growing new things have become really amazing hobbies. It takes a lot of time and energy to get to the point I am at. Learning Outcome 4 talks about commitment and dedication to an activity in which plants are a lot of energy and commitment.

New Museum Building!

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  MFAH New Contemporary Art Building  Being locked up at home for several months due to the Corona Virus, I cautiously decided that I wanted to meet up with some friends to look at the new building that opened up at the MFAH. I got to see Sierra, Jadyn, and Cricket. I haven't seen them in months! We first walked to a local coffee shop called Black Hole, then walked to the MFAH. The new art museum shows only modern and contemporary art. I have identified this activity with learning outcome 5, those outcome is sharing skills and knowledge I felt like I did this by going with my friends and sharing our thoughts about this very unique and special exhibition.

Vote!

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  Vote! Today I went to vote for the 2020 election. Voting is an extremely important service that all Americans eligible can do to support local and state government. I went to vote with my brother Luke and my mom. This was the first time I have ever voted! I turned 18 in April and I was so excited and happy to go out and vote. I identified this service as learning outcomes number 6 because this is an important activity that has a huge global significance!

Painting

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  Painting! While being in quarantine I developed kind of a coping strategy for this crazy world, I have been painting and using my creative talents to form a kind of escapism. By learning new techniques, developing a better understanding of color theory, and using new supplies to create different and unique work. I have identified these new strategies with Learning Outcome 2, in this outcome I feel like I have developed new skills and applied them to the greater good. Specifically for my mental health and creating something out of this crazy that is our world today

Creating a podcast cover

Izabella Curtis  IB student  Podcast Cover My school asked local artists in our community to create a podcast photo for my school's podcast POPcast! In this podcast, they would talk about student life and the activity within our community. I started creating a few designs using my artistic talents and my knowlege of the podcast. I have identified this service as learning outcome 3, this outcome is surrounded by planning and creating something that engages with the community. I felt that this service fit this outcome the best.

Learning to Roller Skate

Izabella Curtis IB Student 2021 Roller Skating!     Over the summer I saw my friend Cricket and she was really into rollerskating so I decided to learn how to skate! I found some old skates at a thrift shop and went out in my neighborhood to start learning. I have skinned my knee a few times and my wrist was swollen for a day but it has been a fun learning experience! My friends and my parents have been teaching me how to skate so I would say this is Learning Outcome 5. It has been a hard journey but working collaboratively with my friends and family it has been a fun experience.
