Making a cat bed!

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  Making a bed for my cat! I went to the store and saw this really cool cat bed, however, it was like 40 dollars and I thought "I can totally make this on my own" A few hours on youtube and starting over about a dozen times I finally. made the bed! The only issue... it was too small! back to the drawing board and now it's perfect! This outcome discusses developing new skills and undertaking new challenges. I really identify my experience with this because I really got to understand the development of persuing and being present during the beginning stages of new projects.

Garrett Bradley: American Rhapsody (CAMH)

Izabella Curtis Ib Student 2021 Contemporary Arts Museum Houston Garrett Bradley: American Rhapsody Exhibit I got the opportunity to walk over to the Contemporary Art Museum (CAM). Garret Bradley is a local Houston filmmaker. Bradley made 3 films, the first was very long and I felt like the story was like the clipping of other stories but it allowed me to think in-depth about my place in society. while the other two stories surrounded themes of love and the ideology of colorism.  I placed this under Learning Outcome one,  Identify your own strengths and develop areas of growth. In this exhibition, I felt like I learned a lot from all the people and other viewers and developed a lot of growth when researching and understanding this artist.

Adventures with my Cat

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  Adventures with Muta! I adopted a cat right at the beginning of my second semester in my sophomore year, and since then we have been going on lots of adventures together! I got a backpack and we went on a bike ride! I've identified Learning Outcome 4 which talks about commitment and dedication to an activity in which I have spent time training my cat to be ready to travel and be comfortable with traveling.

Camping w/ the Seniors!

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  Camping! I got invited to go on a camping trip with some of the Senior Girls at my school! Because our year has been so crazy, it was nice to see some of my friends from school. I drove to the national park with my friend Cricket and immediately got to work! Setting up the tents, making fires, and even cooking our own meals! We also did a lot of activities together and had a great time! I have identified this service as learning outcome 5. This outcome is surrounded by planning and creating something and working together collaboratory! This trip took weeks of planning and organizing to create this enjoyable trip!

learning how to crochet

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  Learning how to Crochet! I wanted to take my skill level to the next level, I heard knitting was extremely difficult so crocheting seemed less complicated! I was wrong, I was in the process of making a cardigan it does take a large amount of time, and dedication. It's a very difficult task with a lot of different elements to complete it! I identified this with learning outcome 4 because of the amount of time and planning this has taken me to make stuff for my friends and family!

Finger knitting a blanket!

Izabella Curtis  IB Student  Finger Knitting a Blanket Finger knitting is something I used to do a lot as a young girl. It has always been extremely nostalgic for me, It requires a lot of time and dedication to doing this project. Lots of youtube and making sure the placement is consistent and easily distributed. Learning outcome 4 is one of my faviioret's because it talks about having dedication and showing commitment to projects.

Indoor Garden!

Izabella Curtis IB Student  New Hobby: Indoor Gardening! while being in school and not really getting the opportunity to go out and be a part of the community due to COVID-19. I wanted to bring more natural life into my environment. Indoor plants and growing new things have become really amazing hobbies. It takes a lot of time and energy to get to the point I am at. Learning Outcome 4 talks about commitment and dedication to an activity in which plants are a lot of energy and commitment.
